View Full Version : Irish Maps?
Hi everyone. Just thought I'd raise the old chestnut of asking if there are any decent Tomtom maps of Ireland yet?
Cheers

There's a new map out now for Tomtom V6 - UK & Republic of Ireland - check out the Tomtom site for more coverage details. If you want a few things checking out to see if they are on there send me details as I've got a copy of it on my Tomtom Go 500 :D :D :D

UK_and_IE_plus_major_roads_of_WE V660.1223 which works on both Tomtom V5 & V6 is 214mb.
United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ir eland-0660.1199 only works on Tomtom V6 & is 113mb.
Only the latest maps ending in .1223 will work on both TT5 & TT6 & at the moment I think its only the Plus maps that are available in this version.

Having just downloaded the latest UK maps, I'm a little surprised that they still show, eg, 2 roundabouts near where I live (Crawley) which have been changed to ordinary traffic light controlled junctions for over 4 years now.
I emailed Tomtom about this over 2 years ago so am disappointed that the maps have still not been updated.
I'm fairly sure that there are many other such examples.
I almost feel cheated but as this was a 'free' update (I got a promo voucher when I bought my TTG500) c'est la vie.
Dave.

Apparently it is described as 'great_britain_plus_map' v605.0.
This was the one released just recently .. unless TT are pulling a fast one.
And .. like so many others, still hoping/waiting for you to get permission to upload the latest speed cam d/b.
Regards,
Dave.

I am using V660 UK & ROI on my Ipaq PDA.
Some new roads around here still not showing, that are 2 years old.
This is quite normal for TomTom Maps.
The thing is, that as we know where the new roads are, then we don't need TomTom anyway :D
TomTom is great for finding places that I have never been to before, and that is what it does best. :)

Hi, Russell1.
Your comment about the map being old set me thinking and, after checking my TTG500, I connected it to my pc and duhhhh ... there was the latest map in the 'home' app but someone forgot to install it onto their TT
I have now 'deleted' the old map and have ver 660.1219 - but the problem with the roundabouts is still there :frown: .
And thanx for the other info.
Regards,
Dave.
