hi- i have a technomate 1500 super and unles the quality is above 68/69 the picture starts to break up below 67 no picture at all to get a good stable picture i need 72 or above is this correct - jeffjones

Its not easy to say for sure because these levels arent calibrated and depend on your system config too some extent and the relative level and FEC etc of the signal you are trying to receive.

i have the same stb m8 and my signal breaks up at about 40%,on my humax i get a good picture and sound at 20%.so it seems they all vary.

my technomate is the same mate but it still clears signals that read much weaker on my other decoders so i wouldnt take any notice of the signal meter if i were you

The signal meter should be used as an indicator only not an actual measurement of signal strength.
BTW what size dish u on?

The sig meter is lower on the 1500 , 65/67 than my old echostar 808 70/73 on strong signals,still clears low sig stuff at about 40 tho',echostar wouldn't.
