Al Jazeera Sports 1 & 2 On Hotbird Prob?

Just wondering if anyone here could help me

Am thinking of getting an official card for a years subscription to Al Jazeera Sports so I can watch the spanish football as D+ is no good anymore & always changes keys before the football :mad: & haven't had much look getting any good signal strength feeds lately

Prob is I cannot pick up the Al Jazeera Sports Channels on Hotbird 13E on 10723 H 29900 H 3/4 as I'm not getting any signal at all on this frequency! Is this a poor signal strength frequency? as I normally get a good signal on Hotbird!

I have an Echostar AD3000IP Via Receiver, so was hoping to buy and use the card in the embedded viaccess slot.

The dish is mounted on the wall on the side of the house & i think it's 80cm Is this too small? My uncle has a 90cm dish & can pick up this frequency, will 10cm make alot of difference?

My mate in london can get full signal from aljazzy sports 13e with a 70cm Mondeal Sh*te dish on a dreambox

I too canot clear the above mentioned channels.

I bought a ART card today and ART 1-6 clears fine but Al Jazeera sports 1 & 2 wont clear. I checked Freq all fine 10723 H 29900.

Any one have any ideas??

29900 is quite a high symbol rate. I am wondering if your receivers are struggling due to that. Can you clear any other TP's with symbol rates higher than 29900?

Working for me no problem got a 80CM dish in the north west.

I also cannot get anything on Eutelsat W1 at 10.0°E as feeds normally come up on there that I cannot get :mad:

it's loud and clear here on a 1500, one of the highest signals, about 80% for me anyway

10723H is the TP with the highest symbol rate on Hotbird, so you can't use that sat as a test.

Can you receive 16E?

If so, see how you fair on the following:-

MPEG-2 32000 5/6

This should give My Music in FTA


11304 V
MPEG-2 30000 3/4

This should give a number of Bulgarian channels in FTA

just got a art card getting art channels ok but not picking anything up from al jazerra sports 1+2 channels scanned in ok with good signal strength on 1.5metre dish but channels not opening or do they not broadcast 24 hours a day got card of sponsers

Haven't really got alot on 16E, but...

11092 V 32000 5/6 - Getting 50-55% at the moment On both Signal Level & Quality & am able to see My Music in FTA clear

11304 V 30000 3/4 - Getting 40-45% at the moment On both Signal Level & Quality and the FTA appear ok

Tried 10723 H 29900 3/4 again on Hotbird for Al Jazeera Sports 1&2 and the signal is between 0-10% so scanning that doesn't find any channels

Any other tests/ideas?

Managed to clear those TP's you gave me with Symbol Rates 32000 & 30000!

Any other ideas?

If possible I could try tilting the dish up more this weekend while watching the signal level to see if it goes up

just had a look at the list of channels on sponsors web site for art card and al jazerra sport is not included

yes i have art card too and al jazeera sport+1 and +2 not cleared..but if u want them, u can contact the sponsors and subscribe to these channels using the same art card u r using..

Tried adjusting dish elevation but didn't make any difference to the signal or this frequency! :frown:
