@bgsats,

Have you loaded the software yet? If you have, make sure that you have an internet connection to the receiver, change the network settings so that you have an IP address, and after pressing menu, press 9 six times, i.e. 999999

If you have smartcard in the menu, press fn on the remote, and check that you are connected to a server.

The status should be "Connected". The server will be in the bottom left of the screen, and it will be in the format xxFF

The main European server is 33FF

As for the bootloader, by default you cannot change server, but as per instructions from Graham, there is a process for loading a modified bootloader, which will allow other servers to be selected.

Thanks, Graham7 and Drpaulos! I have SW 1.18 which I believe is the correct bootloader, can either of you confirm this please? Also found the Visionnet support forum and saw a familiar name there!

@Jono,

The latest software is 1.69, and the best loader is Mitega Vision Tools 2.8

Graham's read me is worth checking out. I will also PM you where you can get full support/files/manuals, etc

Read and printed Graham7's readme, done as directed by PM (thanks Drpaulos!), just need to know whether SW1.18 is the correct bootloader, can either of you confirm this please, I have it here ready to load, thanks!

You should be able to use 1.18. Then load on the latest software - 1.69.

Once up and running, and the receiver is connected to the internet, you can do what is called Internet Software Update, where you enter the URL from the remote. I cannot give you the address for it here, but if you follow as per the PM, you will find the info you need there.

Ok, that's fine - one more question, if using Boxloader 1.3, do I select "Upgrade Bootloader" for 1.18, then "Upgrade Software" for 1.69?

drpaulos

You can do that, or use Mitega Vision Tools 2.8

You really need to go to the place in the PM. There is an awful lot more info on there that you can think of, and I have time to write right now ;)

Yes, I have to agree, Graham7's instructions are very comprehensive and cover every eventuality. I was expecting complications with the LAN connection, but there were none, the connection was made automatically. Anyone who can update a receiver's software with a null modem lead should be able to do this!
