can anyone unlock phone to use abroad ?

hi i have just rang t mobile and asked them to let me have international roaming on my phone they told me i have to pay £15.00 and wait 28 days for a code from manufacturer any one help seems a bit of rip off to me .

I think you need to clarify a few things if you want any answers ;)

Do you mean you want to use international roaming on your existing SIM/number? If so, they would need to activate it.

Do you mean that you want to unlock the phone to be able put another (non T-Mobile) sim in it? If so, you would need to state what phone you have, as the procedure for unlocking varies from phone to phone.
