@Jono

You can do as follows:

You can use Mitega tools 2.8 or Boxloader 1.3 and upgrade by boot-loader ...

- SW 1.51 full flash OR
- full flash vn 8000 1.55 with server set to 21ff OR
- SW 1.65 U OR
- SW 1.30

I used the SW 1.65, but before you do the Boot-Loader, remember to save your settings.

Hello everyone,

People changed the subject above. I am very much interested in the answer to the original question.

What are these 33, 21 etc public servers ? they mean nothing to me apart from being aliases to external servers where I blindly type them or change between them - not even knowing for sure what they provide me- and if they don't work then it seems tough luck.

I gather there is the home sharing (if you have 2 VN's in the house), but can we setup to connect to an external (private) server if we know the IP address ? 33 , 0D , 21 ,,,etc,,, 2 characters,,, is all we can type at the moment, and the network setup option seems to be used to connect to the router or local PC.

Any ideas from the pros ??

Thanks

i don't know if it helps but i saw that when every time i was changing s8rv8r
a different mac address of the board was appearing in my router.

Although that i s a slightly diffrent subject, yes, it does produce a different (virtual) MAC address each time a server change is made, which can be a nightmare if you are setting up security for a wireless connection to work with it.

you're right m8.
also when i scanned for open ports i found nothing open.
how does it connects? what about the firewall and the port forwarding?
what is the way it opens doors in my firewall and passthrough?
what is the os?
