How to determine the SID and PMTPID idents for channels.

These are crucial when editting bin files in DSREMU as without the idents any valid key is useless.

I assume its possible to read them back from the hummy but i've looked and cant see where.

Maybe some software is required to read them?

I'm know there is a difference in the idents between TOH 7.6b and TOH 7.7 and hence a file written with biss keys or CW for 7.6 wont work in 7.7 and vice versa. My first assumption was that they were contained within the PMCT but as 7.7 didn't contain one i'm a bit confused.

any help appreciated

thx in advance

If you press the ? button of your remote a window will appear on your tv that will list this information for the progam currently being shown. It is displayed in decimal format and you will have to convert the numbers to hexadecimal format when using the DSR program. I use the scientific calculator view in windows.

Hope this helps you.

Thx for your prompt reply.. i didnt realise it was as simple as that however
i've just tried this with known idents and done the conversion

an example

known hex idents for MCT amateur = 2210 (SID), 2F50 (PMTPID)

converting these back to decimal i get the correct ServID of 8720 but when i convert back the 2F50 it gives a result of 12112 which i cant corrulate to the info shown on screen. The actual shown on screen for PMTPID = 47 which converts to 2F....which is obviously the first half of the known ident. Sorry for being dense but am i missing something else that would convert to the second half...ie the 50:confused:

In Hot 7.7 you also have to use the last two digits of the PCRPID. Convert that number (4432) to hex and you get the last two digits (50 hex).

It's done this way to prevent a conflict between channels that use the same ServID or PMTPID

Thx TNT;)

i'd still like an answer to my final question though:redface:

i've been compiling a list and putting together dummy keybin's so as and when the keys become available i can just do a quick edit:)

Only use the last 2 digits of PMTPID and PCRPID.
