Anyone know why this is happening? It detects the 500s but the Flash button remains grey so I can't click it. See image below....

I think at that point you need to plug in your 500 to the mains.

Yeah it's all correct. I flashed an image onto it earlier using flash****** pro but it crashed half way and now I have a non working dreambox. If i switch it on then the green led stays on for about 5mins, and then goes off altogether. I dunno what I've done.

Nah I cant get into the box. When i switch is on, the green LED comes on but its solid, Won't respond to remote or anything. Also, I don't even get a picture on the tv screen when the dreambox is switched on.

Stays like this for say 5 minutes, then the whole box just turns off, No LED or anything.

I had same problem.the null cable Iwas using would work my ham radio but not my dream just stayed grey changed cable it worked ok .yes they are both null cables and both work on other equipment ok ,not sure about that led acting that way ,read on other forums that fault seems pretty common most people have changed thier boxes with that

some images do warn NOT to use flash w*z when installing .I didn't spot warning but did manage to clean it off .also when you get it connected use the "erase image" before installing an image can be found on dream world site
in the 500 section also dreamup try another version i use the one from that site no probs:)
