You could try ringing the provider that it is locked to...

I done this earlier today with vodafone... I asked them for the NCK code, they asked me for the IMEI number and then gave me the unlock code..

As far as I know, as long as the phone is registered to you and is out of contract, they have no right to keep the phone locked to their network and are legally bound to give you the network unlock code..

I simply keyed in the unlock code and hey presto, phone unlocked.. no clips, wires, gizmo's etc...

Kind regards
Buster :)

No free solutions as yet.

The Universal Box can unlock these, but the credits cost upto 50 UK pounds, there is also an on-line client called Davinci. This client costs 49 euros, or lastly there are codes knocking about that cost upto 45 UK pounds.

The best option is to ring your service provider.

Thats the latest price for the Universal Box logs m8, it costs 35 UK pounds for 100 credits and it takes 100 credits to unlock these new (DB2020) generation Sony Ericsson handsets.

I use SETool3, which is now able to unlock these handsets a fair bit cheaper. It only takes 12 credits and they cost around 18 - 20 UK pounds for them.

spoke to a friend who had 800i, gave his phone family going abroad, he had to call SE helpline to explain and they conveniently send him a unlock code, but the fooker charged him, i think around 15-20 quid...
could tru SE helpline to say the phone is gone abroad and need unlocking?
