VLC HDTV problem

ive been trying to stream c an al+ Cyfra sport HD from my dreambox to pc using VLC. I get picture for about 5 seconds then i get an error message like below:

My pc specs are:

3.06ghz Pentium 4 Processor
1gb Ram
128mb ATI 9800 AIW

please help as i have seen hd tv running on other pcs using this method

I have tried that also but I get a picture that freezes instantly but sound is OK. I do not get an error message. Try downloading VLC again.

I know VLC 0.8.6 is out now but I could never get VLC to display HD in this way. So search and get Media Player Classic - does the trick lovely.

Hmmm - just saw that 0.8.6 is suppoed to support H264 now but not tried the latest version. I still use Media Player Classic.

Good luck - and let us know hoe you get on - is 0.8.6 any good?

ok i tried 0.8.6. Its slightly better with vlc not crashing at all while i load it. All i can here is sound and loose frames. say it plays for 2 seconds then pauses for 3 seconds.

MPC couldnt even play it. Looks like i need a better pc lol. Any ideas on what spec i need

I am having similar issues with the freezing.

I am using a dual core 2.8ghz pc with 1gb ram and loads of hdd space.

Is it possible to stream hd with this spec ?

Did anyone have any joy here. I am also trying can*l+PL Sport HD.

It stays on for about 3 seconds and then the explorer closes.

I have tried some different codec pack but no joy with VLC 0.86c

Anyone got this going.

No point changing codecs as vlc uses its own !

I've tried this with my 9100 and BBC HD the problem is its a H2.64 in a TS container and its CPU hungry

Ctrl+Alt+Del and chose performance tab before you try and your see the problem

HD xvids are fine and so are H2.64 in mkv container but TS H2.64 is a big problem for vlc

Thanks TNT a least I know now. I will continue to try with my Skystar 2. Do you know if gb*x will run on the HD channels with a Skystar 2?? or will I need a HD one.
