You'll have to do Blind Scan m8,you can't manually put 7/8 in !
You can edit scan in Blind search.
cheers..

Service Identifier Descriptor
The Service Identifier is used by the receiver to identify a certain service within a transmission.

how do you find fec on technom8 chaps

Go into Blind Search, make sure Hispasat is selected, then go to r/h side, alter the t/p to your search Freq. Pol. then change SR to " 7.5 over " then OK.
Hope that does it for you.
cheers..:)

Same problem. I've also got an echostar. I find the channels on the new transponders on Hispasat but can't clear them (with TSM).

Re: the SS2.....should be no problem there... receives the transponders ok with the 'Setup4PC.exe' prog and with several viewers as:

12184 now showing 12186
12185 now showing 12187

i cant get them on 11891 v 30000 7/8

Tested here in Spain (Cordoba) with a 40cm on purpose to check the reception of 3 x vertical transponders at 30ºW.

If you had 'fringe' reception before (dish size etc) the situatuion is made worse of course with a FEC of 7/8 as opposed to 3/4......these reveal the difference in values.

12188 12189 12190

You can see that the received quality is lower for the FEC value of 7/8 on 11891

You may recall too, the saga of Fox Sports ME at 16ºE, where two transponders with the same SR's ie:

11021 H 2894 7/8 'Fox Sports ME'...and
11025 H 2894 3/4 '7 Gold'

present a big problem for those on 'fringe' reception as the FEC of 3/4 is the more receptive value. Fact is that although most receivers allow you to choose a FEC rating the entry is false as it uses the 'Auto' value. The Dreambox as an example will lock on to a proven transponder with ANY FEC value entered and many receivers follow this pattern.

The above shots are taken using the SS2 'Setup4PC.exe' prog.

Again, as was most certainly always the cure for 16ºE, I imagine a bigger dish is required.

People,

This subject was already discussed in here:
