Just wondering if I could get supersports sa on satellite nss7 at 22west in north England help much appreciated

Are you sure its 22west, there is Supersport on 13east and 42east but 22west ??

Anks, dont think you can get it in UK.

SupersportSA is on the West Africa beam from 22W, and from footprint it doesnt look like its possible.

Has it got a Transponder Frequency as I can not seem to find it with Lyngsat if it has I was going to give it a go with my Dish here in the East Midlands.

Hi,

I used to get the West Africa beam on 22w in the North West of England with a 2m Prime Focus and an Invacom LNB. Its marginal reception but it is possible. I also know its possible in the West of Scotland with a similar setup.

Supersport3 SA is on the French package on that beam so no files as far as I am aware but maybe possible via CS.

A bit later on today I will give that Sat a try with my Dish and a receiver with a sensitive Tuner not my main Dreambox 7000s.

On West Africa beam TV5 is FTA and is the easiest to receive at:

10986 V
tp 9

SR 30000
FEC 3/4

Or LC2 is FTA at:

11051 V
tp 10

SR 30000
FEC 3/4

Supersport3 SA is on:

11491 V
tp 13

SR 30000
FEC 3/4

I asked for that a bit earlier.That sat seems to ring a bell,I used to use a sat in that position for feeds of I think Boxing many years ago.

A realy good strong signal is 12735 freq,H pol,3/4 Fec,16639 Sym Rate.

Supersport 3 SA on 36E is very difficult to get in the UK you will need more than a 4m dish as far as I am aware. Not sure of the exact size.

22w is possible with a 2m dish but I would recommend something bigger for stable viewing.

Looking at the West Africa footprint, it looks impossible in the UK at all! No idea how people manage to get it on dishes as small as 2m!

Well we do !! 22w that is and not 36E.

In fact it used to be possible to get Trumper Internet TV from Nigeria on 22w and the Dragon CAM opened it nicely. Its a pity TITV has gone now.

It's amazing how wrong some footprints can be. Nilesat don't reach above southern Spain and we get it OK on our 1.2m dishes (well one of the polarities anyway!) and now this 22w WA beam!

If only Sirius Nordic was that easy!!!

The footprints normally show an intended coverage area but you always get spillover into the surrounding areas as long as line of sight to the satellite still exists.

In some cases you can fairly accurately work backwards from the known coverage area to work out what the beamwidth of the satellite antenna is and then you can estimate what the EIRP level will be in areas outside the intended coverage. Plus there are also sidelobes to look for in some cases. If the satellite uses a shaped beam to get the required footprint then working out the out of footprint levels gets a whole lot more difficult.

if u can get 22 west,
then u can get nile ,
it looks nile is strong then 22 west,
i hope u can get nile horizantal frequencies,
specially in day time when signal is weak,
like 11804, 12303
