View Full Version : Damaged Mount

I have (had) a 1.2m Channel Master dish driven by a Jaeger 128 h-h motor.
Last night's high winds sheared the rod that supports and turns the dish just as it comes out of the motor casing.

Can anyone advise me whether this is repairable. If so how/where?
If not, what do I replace it with and from where?

Thanks.

Sorry fella it's bin fodder, the shaft must have been damaged is some way before.

Although I no longer have mine it never had above the recommended Channel master 1m dish.

The 128 was never meant for dishes above 1m, you should be running a Jeager 144 for that.

The Jeager 144 is much bigger and is like a musclebound 128, it also has a musclebound price tag :D

Well that's bad news - I was hoping the shaft was replaceable.

Any ideas on a suitable replacement, and where to obtain it.

 Is it actually the short shaft or the pin which locks the dish to the shaft? The latter is definitely repairable! If it's the shaft then no option but a new, bigger mount!

It's the shaft that has gone I'm afraid.
Any idea how to remove the pin so I can detach the broken shaft?

Satwyn - thanks very much for the offer.
What is it you have got, and where are you based?

Thanks guys.

:frown: Two options drill and Easy-out or drill completely!
