View Full Version : Update problems on Hispasat

Hispansat have recently updated 2 of its transponders, 11891 and 12456 7/8 to 30000 symbol rate. When downloading the new frequences my echostar lists them and shows a strong signal but does not encrypt them. So I cannot get c****+ cine 1 and 2 etc. I've read elsewhere other receivers cannot pick these channels up either. Does anyone know the reason??

Stew

Are you scanning the Vertical transponder and not the Horizontal one, as there is stuff on both.
Fine here on an old SS1.

Strange that. No problem on any other except the 2 x 30000 symbol rate ones:confused:

Ur problem is, I am quite sure, with the SID.
It is probably getting the SID 40 (C+ Cine 1) and it should be SID 5.
Also for SID 41 (C+ Cine 2) it should be 6.
Not sure if it a Echostar prob; had same thing in PVR5200 and could only work it around with Setedit.
Hope it helps.

Echostar AD3000IPVIA
try delieting the ones that you have in at the moment
11891 and 12456 7/8 to 30000

make sure that it is not in the frequency list
then try rescannin them

Thanks for the replies guys, much appreciated. I've tried deleting several times ABA but no success:frown: Will attempt to play around with the settings and see what happens:eek:

If u r trying to workaround the problem using the tools from echostar, u can forget it. No possibility to change this on that tool.

You need something as Setedit to have full control of your TP, TV, radio. etc. Have a look at their site.

PS: I wanted to add some attachments to ilustrate this but I am unable for now :frown:

I can confirm earlier posts - cine 1/2/3 on 30°w can not be cleared using any of the menus in an echostar 3000.

I don't have setedit so I can't confirm if the SID solution suggested by Terrango will work.

Thanx for the info Terango and Burnham. Guess the old servant echostar is nearing the end of its days:redface:

As I said earlier they've cleared on mine:)
Am I lucky and/or unique?
I just put the new parameters in (without deleting anything) and there they were:D

Interesting. I have seen this problem discussed before with cine1/2/3 on the old transponder, so all I did today was do a quick check after loading the new transponder.

I only checked today with a diablo cam (it was working ok with all other D+ transponders) - what cam did you use?

It is not a cam thing. It is something that all (?) echostar receivers do (I have AD3000, DVR7000, PVR5200 and same thing in all) and because D+ is sending for some channels a dual SID (why?) and the dammed echos insist in picking the wrong ones. Do not know if other brand do the same...

There is still life, just need to find it. :) As info this receivers Arion/Echostar/Eycos are basically the same with different names.
See some pict. to illustrate the problem and the solution.
first is echostar editor
second setedit, xxx.setedit.com, (SID is named Ch.ID), as u can see u have full control over the TV parameters.

This setedit tool (exist for a lot of other receivers) is one of the best tools u can get to take control of your sat/channel list. Have a look...

One thing I did notice is that although my AD3000ip clears the signal, it takes over twice as long as others to appears - maybe whilst it's sorting itself out?
I'm using a T-Rex Super CAM

Terango - any comments on fernandez's post ?

You say it can't be done - fernandez says it can be done with a T-Rex Super CAM

We are talking about 2 different things here.

Fernandez is talking about getting this channels open. OK but to get into this u first need them in your receivers memory and they have to be with the wright parameters.
It can also take more or less time to clear them, it depends when u switch to them where in the stream is the information for them; the response time of the receiver/decoder etc.
examples:
C+ Cine 1
SID= 5, VPID & PCR= 162, APID= 88(spa) or 89 (orig), PMT= 512, TXT= 38
C+ Cine 2
SID= 6, VPID & PCR= 163, APID= 88(spa) or 89 (orig), PMT= 512, TXT= 41

This can be check,at least in part, when u press a couple of times the i button from the remote.
Now, when all this parameters are correct for the different channels, this channels are susceptible to be open. This is achieved without any external help (read decoder), directly by the receiver (FTA as example). In case they are coded (scrambled) the external help is required (built in decoder, pcmcia... plus in some cases the access card) in order to correctly open the video/audio signal.

In conclusion:
Does not matter witch decoding device you have; as long as the correct parameters for each channel are not correct, the channel will not be extracted from the mpeg stream and consequently cannot be seen (FTA or Scrambled).
You can see that you get the stream (wright transponder settings required), i.e. signal strength= 95% & signal quality= 70% but if the correct parameters for each channel are not correct, as said above, you will not be able to see any video/audio.

Hope the explanation was clear... :D

11891 - 30000

Cine+1,+2,+3 doesn't work on my ad3000ip either but Toon disney is ok on that transponder. all other are ok.

If you are so bothered then move ur dish to 19e and watch Cine+1,+2,+3. as they work 100%

Use the echostar tool to import to your pc the sat list.
Open and edit with setedit as you pleased. Save file.
Export the modified / new file to your stb using the same tool as said above.

I do it this way and it works everytime.
