Not realy a prob as such just a mystery. i patch my hummy do anything etc.
but after i do this when i use dsr it wont write. i did work prob out
couple months ago. i have to restart lappy and first thing i do is load dsr and its ok . my question is why do i have to restart lappy every time when i write some thing it is pretty annoying.
Marco
no reason why you should have to, ive loaded keys a few times on the trot before without any issues.
what error are you getting the seccond time you try to load keys? or do they just not go in?

i open bin then write
it says 100% done
then 0% done
then verification error 4091 bytes found
i restart lappy turn hummy of and on all ok :confused:
my settings in dsr
[SETTINGS]
DEFAULTPORT=1
FWCHECK=0
READSPEED=4096
ZEROCOUNTCHECK=0
READTIMEOUT=8192
WRITEDELAY=10
FASTWRITE=1
VERIFY=1
E-BYTE=FF
weird, you could try slowing the com port down but i cant realy see how this would help since its working the first time.
how about just closing dsr and trying again, do you get the same problem?

ive tried everthing slowed com ports shut dsr tried again same prob

my old lappy was ok i think its a computer related prob me self
your setting sound about right to me but i cant confirm it at the moment as im at work.
i think your right tho its more than likley a computer thing.
i will let you knw what mey settings are when i get home if you dont get it sorted by then

hi marco,
just another thing for you to try, in older versions of dsr, sometimes it helped to slow down the write speed, the best way to do this is to edit your settings file
as such
[SETTINGS]
DEFAULTPORT=1
FWCHECK=0
READSPEED=4096
ZEROCOUNTCHECK=0
READTIMEOUT=8192
WRITEDELAY=10
FASTWRITE=0
VERIFY=1
E-BYTE=FF
it slows the load to a speed that you can it count off, but it did seem to sove some problems
hope this helps

after i patch, put pmc in hummy etc i dont restart lappy now
i take cable out of lappy
hummy of & on with r/c
cable in hummy
then write bin
i dont now why i should remove null modem cable
cheers
Marco
you could try using another cable (cant see it doing anything to be honest but it eliminates it as a problem)
it could be something to do with talkback in the humax, since your pulling out the cable it may be timing out quicker, however since i have no idea what the talkback is or if it even has talkback this may not be the fault ether!
this is a full on weird one mate!

zad ive got 3 cables m8 still the same.as i said in earlier thread
my old laptop was fine.
couple months ago i drilled a hole through me wall to me computer room
my parents weren't that happy :D
i coneted my p4 to hummy using cable. that was ok
:confused:
As marco already knows......i also have exactly the same problem! its very frustrating, as if i was to reload toh 8.0 then use dsr it works fine, but leave a day, dsr will not upload keys!

i would say now this is a computer related prob
its ok using my p4 and was ok on me old lappy

on my set, it won't verify or read back keys, but i just unplug the nullmodem cable and everything uploaded just fine...
not really helping i know, but a similar problem...

prob is not just with me :) , have you tried this on another pc ?
as i said earlier i am sure its a computer related prob
i may be wrong.
marco, what version of windows are you running mate? is it the same version (including hot patches) on the machine that does work?
just a thought

windows xp, sp1 and hummy tray suite m8
Marco
09-03-2007, 03:27 PM
i was thinking of uninstaling traysuit see if that helps
but i cant see that it would. ive tried everiting else
formated hd put windows on etc etc etc
i should have kept me old lappy,it was slow but it did the job
were you using sp2 on the lappy that was working or was that sp2?
never used the tray suite so it may be an idea, there may be a rogue driver used by it thats causing a conflict
Marco

there is just one more prog that does this same sort of prob pmct smart
it reads pmc from hummy to pc, i do the same with this
i have to restart lappy to get it going
i always thought me lappy was a bit on the cheap side :)
Marco

seems like a good idea !! i will uninstall traysuit
if it dont work ive got it backed up on cd any way
or i will download sp2 and try that
when i said earlier it works on me other pc
its not got traysuit on it you could be wright sounds good
