i have a humax and it works fine, topfield is new so not many people have one and homecast is not available in this country only from germany but apparently is also quite good.the choice is yours.

Homecast is now available in the UK do a search on the bay of e! Comes with a 3 year warranty and is susposed to be better than the Humax.

The new Fortec star "Passion HD" receiver will be availible end of this month, it amongst other things decodes 4:2:2 transmissions and will be highly flexible with regards to modded software/firmware!!.:D

I'm going through this decision at the moment.
Homecast is available from a Bristol shop. steveonechin can u pm me the english manual details - only found the german one so far.
Fortec Star - does it really have 4:2:2 as can't find that specified on fortecstar.com

It is being reported that it will do 4:2:2, but not as yet confirmed.
It seems the first model will not have the Powerscan(blind scan) function, but a later version will have.

m8 of mine got the homecast from a dealer on the bay of e, and is very pleased with it, as its a lot easier to use than my Humax, and the picture quality is great if not fantastic. Will be interesting to see the Fortec!
