Is My Humax5400 Dead

hi the problem with my humax5400 is that i got signal level 100% but the signal quality 0 any help will deeply appreciated

Hi mate Check your lmb and coax cable and dish alingment
it dont sound like the humax its self

Your lnb settings could have become corrupted, or the the high winds could have moved your dish by exactly 3 degrees leaving you with the wrong frequencies on the wrong satellite.

Swap the lnb for a known working one, try another box with your dish set up if you can borrow one.

as tony0 has said the first thing to check is the dish, do a fine tune and see if it just needs a tweak, mine has needed to be fine tuned quite frequently lately

the same thing happened to me twice in the past

1. the first time the cover of the lnb broke (due to the very strong sun we have here in Cyprus and a small insect got in the hole and cut the signal.

2. when i was playing with humax i send to it wrong system id

in that case please check your humax and send to it the right system id
and your signal will have quality and level

this is the most common cause of this fault after dish alingment, lnb and cable

thanks i checked the lnb & dish is ok i even check it on other receiver it ok when open the box one of the resistor R21 is burnt i need to change it but i don"t know where to get one thanks for help

there is always a component supply shop near u, such as mapl**s, rs, ******s, or go to a local tv shop and ask the repair engineer for the resistor, make sure its the correct value...

chance is are its not just the resistor, this tends to go due to a capasitor going short.
