Does db500 need pc connected

Im thinking of getting a db500s and wondered if it needs a pc connected for sharing or can its ethernet directly access the router.
Can it have an ip of its own.

Give it a dyndns and just leave it hooked up to your router, No pc needed for what you are thinking of.
Some routers like netgear you can put your dns in it and forget about it;)

And for cardsharing, do I need to install something on Dream? How do I get access to a cardsharing server?

Cheers sonic,That makes it seem a much better idea than my hum 5400 and pc.
I am in the process of getting broadband so not sure quite what dyndns and dns are but assume they are ips.
