Yes it can either by buying the code from the provider or taking it to someone with a commercial solution such as Furiousbox Gold, etc. There is no free way to unlock these.

No, as already stated you need someone with the relevant service box. The cost should be around 10 GBP.

The phone is locked to Vodafone and I got a Vodafone PAYG sim card for it. I want to use the internet on the phone but Vodafone informed me that you can only use the internet on the phone if its a contract. Is there any way round this?
