it happened with many 2000 boxes.

I have read this for you in the forum mayby its help you
Sometimes the Boot loader of our Clarke-Tech decoder is corrupt and the decoder doesn’t power up.

This is the way to solve the problem:
1) Go to www.clarke-tech.com and download the original firmware of your model (1500, 2000 or 2100)
2) Download Ctech Uploader
3) Prepare Ctech Uploader (browse the firmware)
4) Plug your Usb or your serial. Now you have to be rapid because you have less than 2 seconds to auto detect the com port. Power on your decoder with the back button when you see the first green led on the front Lcd screen push (quickly) the Auto Detect button of Ctech Uploader your com port is detected.
5) Switch off with the back button.
6) Use the same method, you have less than 2 seconds to send the firmware. Power on your decoder with the back button when you see the first green led on the front Lcd screen push the button Connect to begin uploading your firmware into the decoder.
7) Et Voila

8) Now you can upload the firmware you like and more …

The above worked perfectly for me. stb appeared totally dead due to it not being happy with usb sticks all of the time and I had to pull plug out during an attempted firmware download. No choice! I used the serial lead as directed above. If you don't have a serial lead but do have a usb stick and get in my mess then if your usb stick is the sort that lights up, (when stuck in appropriate places), then that will tell you if A's repair will work if you then go out and get a serial cable.
