It is alleged that the Fortec Star Passion HD Receiver due out this month is able to handle 4:2:2 signals. Good news for all feedhunters.

I just bought the Fortec Star Beta box from M*plins.
Not 4:2:2 but if you want a cheap Blind Scan receiver with 6000 channels then go for it.
I'm still testing it but it seems good.
Go for B grade stock.....just £29.99!...and still available online
One more thing...it's patchable as well :D

Hello stamfordblue, Is this box as good as the coship 3188c as i have a spare feed from my lnb and i am looking for a different reciever to scan with at the same time as my coship without the remote control problems, any info i would be gratefull

Hi Howie.
I don't know the Coship. The Beta is just a FTA box without any CI slots.
Just thought it was dirt cheap for a Blind Scan receiver.
I've only had it a couple of days but with the blindscan you can go as low as 4 mhz on the steps.
The full scan does take a long time to do on 4mhz steps (about an hour)
I did read it finds feeds some other boxes can't though :)

I am guessing then Howie that if you're local ****** store has them in stock you can go pick one up instead of ordering online ?

back to the passion bind scan +4.2.2 would be a great receiver have used quali tv in the past but not the best for feed hunting you will also be able to plug external h/d into usb port of the fortec for s/d and h/d recordings

For those of you who are waiting for news on the Passion receiver...I´ve just seem that it´s out for sale on a German site now, the price there is €239.90 (£163). The official info still does not say anything about it having blindscan or 4:2:2.
