These HDTVs with integrated freeview tuners.
Can you get BBCHD through them or is it possible to do so.
If not why not?

no

why not , because it isnt transmitted and there isnt the bandwidth or free frequencies at the moment in order to transmit it and no plans to do so at this time

even if it was I dont think the built-in digital tuners could cope anyway as its a different type of signal

There was a HDTV Freeview trial for a select few people within range of Crystal Palace TV transmitter, but for the general public it never existed.

and there have been several recent news reports where ppl have asked for the frequencies once analogue tv is turned off , but the government hasnt made any decisions as yet and probably wont for a long time , hence the news about freesat etc

New HD Freesat mentioned on the BBC site. Just ordered a Goodmans Freeview box that upscales to 1080i it says (a bit of a improvement would be good) will report back wen i try it out!

I tried one of the goodmans boxes. got it on saturday from arguuuus.

Its was good, but I couldnt tell the difference when watching its scart output or hdmi. I only have a 19" HDTV though, so it might upscale a bit better on a biggun. You can choose from 576p,720p or 1080i at setup, and by pressing the big middle remote button when watching. Good luck with it. I will wait until the hd freesat starts, and use the hdci2000 for a bit longer.
