Sept07 or 2008 because some says this year and some next.
They haven't yet tell thier subscribers to start pointing their dishes
towards astra.

According to what I read in the french media a little while ago they're not beginning the dish realigning operation until september, if that is wrong and they have already begun, it will still take them a long time, there's a lot of dishes. One estimate is 18mths, whilst tele 7 jours in march said 24mths.
Astra1 yes but anyone know which?..ie 1E;1F;1G;1H or 1KR?

Well it would seem logical that they'd stick with their existing transponders, ie those already in use by Can***** and canal+ on Astra 1. After all part of this fusion period is to "standardise" the channels offered across the two bouquets so that the final changeover is invisible to the customer.
I'm not sure I can see what difference it makes as to which of the Astra 1 birds carries the channels anyway - but maybe I'm missing something.

T*P*S stay upon H.B. for long months still..
:)
I guess Sky Italia will be looking to buy up the spare transponder space then.

with 1.4 million subscribers dishes to re-align and boxes to replace, that should be at least a year. :)

It only matters to those in the fringe areas of Astra 19.2°E.
The target audience (France and western Europe) is well covered by Astra but some of the widebeam Hotbird transponders could be received well beyond that.
