LOL it is one of those urban myths that gas plasma screens can be re gassed
they will become daker in time but by that time the technology will be out of date and newer better screens will be avalable....baz
I have an NEC plasma thats been running every day since year 2000. Its so old its 4:3 shape lol, but it had 1 year of life on display in the millenium dome, then about a year in the lounge, then 5 years as a telly for the kids. It may be a bit noisy due to the old fashion heat fans and a bit bashed, but it still works fine. Re-gas is a myth, and I'm sure I'll end up throwing it out (too many screens) before the picture ever becomes 'darker'. :)

Sorry M8 I meant they need gassing is a load of crap :)
The Panasonics are very good screens however the px600 and px60 suffered with something called purple snakes and
people are reporting seeing the same in the px70/px700 but to a lesser degree
My opinion is if a don't tell you what they are and what to look for I doubt you will ever see them (not everyone sees them anyway)
Go have a good demo of one and decide for yourself if you don't see anything unusual then you probably never will

Thanks for that M8 I have been to see it and looks good to me. the picture looks good and the sounds is all right what I could do in the shop as with the other TV on but I did turn it right up:D to see what it was like. As I have heard this is the new one out so I think I will get this one in about 2 weeks time.
Listen m8 TNT is not an expert YOU ASK IN the shop about this GAS thing
Maybe they give you a free bottle of gas with the tv:D:D

The newest are said to be good for 60,000 hours, do the maths. At 6 hrs/day viewing every day of the year that's approx 27.4 years ...lol

Just to let you know I have got a Panasonic TH-42PX700B got a stand for it but the stand that I got would not do so had to send it back. Phone Panasonic and they said that you have to us the right stand for the TV. So got one for £275 and I was lucky as done a search on the net and you can only get them for around £425 to £600 what I found. All so Panasonic said that they are stopping selling the TV without the stand and people are using the wrong stand for the TV and having accident so get the right stand for your Panasonic. What I think of it so far what a TV working great no problems what I can see no snake I can see but have not us it a lot yet.
did you check the gas ?
:D
