Hi Can anyone please give me some advice on Mpeg 4:2:2 decoders. Can they connect to my Echostar satellite reciever and when I go onto a 4:2:2 feed will they simply decode that feed football for example, Which is the best one for Price etc and where can I purchase one. Did a search but could'nt find anything

Many Thanks In advance

IN terms of a receiver box all i know of is the Quali-TV receiver for 4:2:2, you can loop this from your other receiver (if your other receiver permits this) to decode a 4:2:2 feed.

Otherwise 4:2:2 solutions via DVB PC cards are possible but I haven't been there myself.

A famous auction site might worth a look for receivers, there should be some around as whilst they are a HD receiver they don't clear MPEG4 HD (which rules out BBC HD etc) but they do clear Mpeg2 HD and of course 4:2:2 transmissions.

i always find with my SkyStar2 PCI card which i use to record 4:2:2 feeds is always a bit choppy on playback, maybe my PC isn't powerful enough - i imagine that only a dedicated box is best for 4:2:2 feeds, such as the Quali-tv

Quali-tv was the one I was trying to think of.

Many Thanks GazC and ManikM

Most of the feeds on 7E were 4:2:2 when I last looked. See Lyngsat for details.

Or there is a list here too: _http://www.satelliweb.com/feeds70.html
