I get "decent" reception 66%-70% on a dreambox ,1.1m dish west yorks in good weather

Crap weather like to tonight i get jack all!!

I imagine you should get better results with a proper aligned dish above 1.0m [maybe 90cm?] down southern england

a 1.6 or 1.8 would be a better bet

the new badr4 sat will give a stronger signai in western europe 1.2 should be ok in most weather conditions. for all transponders at 26e a larger dish will be needed it depends on the channels you're after

Arabsat (BADR) seems to be similar to Nilesat these days, the vertical channels are stronger than the horizontal ones. I get all the vertical frequencies but only a few of the horizontal ones on my 1.2m dish.

Is orbit sill on 26E?

It is still on 26E (or 25.5E to be exact), but it's on the middle east beam of Eurobird 2, which is almost impossible to receive in europe unless you have a dish of around 3m. The european service of Orbit is now on Atlantic Bird 2 at 8W.
