usb to 232

can someone tell me what program i can use ,as i have only got usb outlet no com port i know i can get a usb to 232 connection but nead advise if this is correct and if so can i still use the old programs like hu1.5 to update my humax cheers and also got vista

When u buy the usb to r232 cable.It comes with a cd with driver.
