no signal colour bars on 1500 super

my brother has a technomate 1500 super but he as no blue and yellow signal bars.yet if i attatch my technomate 1000d to his dish they are there.any thoughts m8s.thanks

You could be pointing your dish at Astra 19E but looking for frequencies on Thor at 1 W for example.
You could have the DisSEqC settings wrong or your LNB power set to OFF.
The LNB type could be set wrong.
All things that foxed me in the past when I first got my 1500.
