Anyone else fed up with waiting for the new dreambox 8000 to come out?
Is there an alternative that can do the same or similar things?

I dont think there is. Either get yourself a crappy hummy hdci2000 with nice picture/but **** features, or sit tight. I don't see how it can take so long to get the dreambox hd ready ffs. It should wipe the floor with the others, so one wonders if they have been payed to delay the lauch??????

No other HD PVR available yet.

Look out for: Topfield TF7700HDPVR

Thanks for replies, I have been browsing db forums and over a year ago people were saying "8000 released soon, next month" etc. I have no idea if the problem is technical or political. There is nothing at all on dream website. Seems such a shame as plenty of TVs available at reasonable price now capable of HD.
I have an SS2 card but PC that it is in has only AMD 3000+ which isn't good enough, I get freezing on HD.
I am reading threads about other receivers running gbox and curious if they will work "with" a dream. I am sure you know what I mean.

The AB IPBOX 900/9000 HD PVR (relook variant) are 'said' to come out next month (probably won´t though! :D )...this will surely be an alternative to DB8000...early shop prices for the 9000 have been set to €549.

Kathrein UFS 910, linux embedded with Ethernet port and working with SFTeam img using emus like Radegast, Camd, etc. is the only alternative to the unexisting Dreambox8000.

Becoming quite popular in German and Czech markets.
