Tomtom one v2 and Sony Ericsson 610i

Hi,
according to my tomtom manual the unit should act as a hands free device when connected to a phone via bluetooth.
However I cannot get it to set up the necessary data link. I keep getting the message connection failed on the phone and tomtom. It gets to 65% on the progress bar before it says cannot connect. The phone finds the tomtom and vice versa but fails when trying to set up the data link. Do I need extra files on the tomtom to get this to work. all help and suggestions appreciated and apologies if this is lame question - I am a novice lol,

Are you sure the manual you are looking at is specifically for the Tomtom One? In my experience, it is on the Go series that support Bluetooth Handsfree, although the same s/w is used on all devices.

The Tomtom One range only use the bluetooth phone connection for the Tomtom Plus services - eg Traffic & weather reports. As drpaulos posted - it does not work as a handsfree device.
