Humax PR-HD 1000

Anyone any information on the Humax PR-HD 1000, it has good ratings but all reviews are in German.:redface:

I like mine, Dragon cam with appropriate software. Some of the channels are locked due to age restriction,during the day if it is a premiere box. Can;t for the life of me remember which one but a card in the inbuilt cam removes this problem.

where do you get one from? Does the prem sport portal work on it? How much are they? I like my hdci2000, but would prefer a working portal.

Check eb*y.de for prhd1000 . Portal is working, but some problems with other channels if rated 16+ .

With the patch this is completely fixed, and all parental control goes. The patch will also activate all the items in the hidden menu. That means getting the hard disk interface working to the USB port.
Unfortunately only Loader 2.02 at the moment will allow the update.

As I said everything is in German at the mo, but some of the bits and pieces are on the Crazysat site. (HDTV Models/Docs). For discussions you can get a link via Colibri's site (link at top in red says "Details".

Remember though that only loader version 2.02 is currently working with PRHD1000-Heaven, the main exe prog to do the patching.

You are correct to wait as there are many unsolved problems with the PR-HD1000 receiver. The firmware prevents access to other providers other than premeire and over ridding this restriction can only be achieved by changing the loader.

Unfortunately changing the loader renders the box useless due to inbuilt security protection.

There are ways to change the main software to allow watching other channels but this requires hardware mods and the patxhes are lost on reboot.

In addition humax are sending OTA updates which make the hacks unusable

So as I said, it is better to wait until these issues are resolved
