Help please, narrowed it down to one of the two dishes above along with titanium 0.2 lnb and a technomate tm2200 motor. Which would be the best dish for the weaker signals or are they about the same. triax (88***) and the gibertini (85***) or is there a better 95cm as thats my limit on size.

Just checked the measurements of the Triax 66, it measures 85 x 95 according to their website. If you can get similar measurements for the Gilbertini you can take the actual size into account before deciding. Well worth doing, as the Triax 110, for example, only measures 100 x 105.

Hi,
I have a Triax 88cm dish and I have to say it is very well constructed, I get some very strong winds and it withstands them brilliantly. I am no real expert on dish performance but if you want a very well constructed and durable dish then this one has to be a strong contender. I currently use it with an MTI 0.6db Lnb and a Superjack DG120 Diseq motor. I believe the Gibertini dishes are also very good but not having one I can only comment on the Triax.

My 1m Gibby is 104cm high by 97cm wide but the reflector surface is only 100cm high by 93cm wide
The Gibby 85 dimensions are 90.5cms high by 85cms wide, the reflector surface will be a few cms smaller than that.
My Gibby reflector surface is aluminium , the backing plate is galvanised steel.
That makes is lighter than a solid steel 1m dish.

Hi satpaul
Slightly off topic, although I'm very satisfied with my Gibby. I've got a 1.1mwide by 1.3m high aluminium Global Orbit dish ready to go up, when I feel fit to do it that is. Any good do you know? Supposed to be of German manufacture but the mount looks very flimsy compaired to the Gibby mount.
Thanks for any feedback, sorry for h i g h j a c k i n g "balesyboy's" thread.

Thanks guys so with a 88cm triax the gain is 38.8db and with the gibertini 1m the gain is 39.4db so the difference of 0.6db does anyone know how much more signal this equals to...........

Quite often the difference between lock or broken up sound and vision on a signal.
