Nice one Russ M8 it's for a M8. I only hope it works with the built in GPS, he thinks it will so I will give it a try.

No it won't work with the built in GPS - he will need an external gps receiver. IF he wants a navigation programme to work wit the built in gps then have a look at Route66.

I've got the n95 as well, and just looked at the Route 66 site. Seems the version required is "Route 66 Mobile 7".
Not currently in stock though, it says back soon.

i downloaded the maps from nokia and paid about £40 for 3 years,subscription,had no problem at the moment.i also Select "Use Network" and change this setting from "When Needed" to "Never".So i will never be charged for using it.I may have to update the maps from time to time but thats no problem,this stops it using the data network,
im with orange,i hear web and walk from t-mobile is good for data charges.
