Hi People,

I have 1 fixed (Nilesat) dish and 1 motorised dish, at the moment each going to a separate receiver.

I'd like to use just one receiver and both LNBs to be fed to the motorised receiver.

Is it possible to set up the receiver so that it takes the 2 LNBs, uses 1 for Nilesat only while the rest of sats from the motorised LNB ?

I guess if thats possible , I would need a splitter of some sort ? I am after an auto thing , not a manual switch.

Whats the best setup ?

Cheers

I use an A-B manual co-axial switch for that type of situation. Less than a tenner, try crapbay or s a t c u r e or maybe the sponsor sells them.

you can use a 4 way diseqc switch and connect the motor to one input and the fixed lnb to another input

then setup the diseqc details in your reciver

so most will use the motor but one setting will use the diseqc setting for the fixed dish for nilesat

Does it have to be 4 -way switch in order to do the job automatically ?

I mentioned the 4 way as its common but a 2 way , 4 way or 8 way will work

your receiver needs to be setup correctly in the diseqc settings and the motor settings for it to work

and you cannot cascade 2 diseqc switches as it wont work ( ie a 4 way to a monoblock )

I wont be using a monoblock , but you're saying I can have the 2 or 4 way switch by the receiver with the 2 wires coming down from the 2 LNB connected to it (one of which via Diseq1.2 motor). All would work auto by setting up the rec ?

yes you can , that is why I said it !

assign the lnb input for the nilesat to one of the settings , say lnb 2 , and assign the motor to the correct lnb input setting for all the other sats , say lnb 1

the switch will then choose lnb 1 input for all sats until you try nilesat where it will switch to lnb 2 just for that one
