fans conned again. all season ticket holders had to join the automatic cup scheme to watch the ressies play coventry.
team.kuszczak, bardsley, evans, pique, simpson, o'shea ,nani, martin, eagles, dong, anderson.
the only shock at old trafford was if fergie picked a side with the intention of winning the game.

its scandalous really, and while i h8 the team selection, the blame lies squarely with the you-know-whos

they already had to pay for tickets under the acs scheme. united will resell (if they can) for you at 75% of the value. so lets see you are forced to buy one and then they give you 75% back if you cant go.mmm. less handling fee.
i read of a supporter who couldnt attend a midweek last season and sold thro uniteds scheme ,rather than thro the black market. when he applied for the ballot for city away this season , he was told that because he missed a game last season he wasnt eligable. if he had sold to joe bloggs united wouldnt have known. because he sold thro uniteds scheme they had a record.

Ferguson in his programme notes

“The boys I put out are capable of beating Coventry and they are in fact good enough to win the Carling Cup.”

Elsewhere he described them as an ‘exceptionally gifted group’ and added “I would have no qualms playing any of them in our first team.”

Dear god, I hope that's just a smoke screen to stop him being accused of not being interested in the "Noddy Cup" - I've got £20 on them doin the treble!:eek::eek:

I assume this is the same "Noddy Cup" that Fergie was desperate to win for the last couple of seasons?

I dont agree with putting out kids whatever the trophy. They might as well not have entered it. I think Fergie gets it wrong every year with this trophy. Winning becomes a habit and even if they were kids and not the first team it still effects squad morale. Its also not fair on the fans who payout their hard earned cash to watch a team of reserves. Oh well the Glazers will soon be selling up with a tidy profit and then United will be in the hands of The Arabs or Chinese.....great stuff!

just read united we stand on line. looks like 70,000+ official crowd with 45,000 bums on seats. considering 11000 coventry fans did the trip, do the sums. even after having to fork out for a ticket most reds (except fergie) knew the outcome.
