Hi Guys,

I using the Humax 5400 with the latest Modified Pet Settings. I have a Technomate TM2100 Motor (Disqec 1.2 Motor)

When moving between satellite positions, eg 1 West and 19 East, the motor clicks, but does not move, you can to go back to the previous channel (Tv1000), then to a channel on 19 East (Prem Portal), then the dish moves.

When the motor clicks and does not move, u can see that the power light on the motor disappears, then power light comes back on when you can back to the previous channel.

I have changed the cabling from the dish to the Humax. But still 50% of the time, moving between satellites causes this problem.

The only setting in the Humax Menu, is to enable the Motorized Setting, all the other settings are disabled.

I just trying to understand where lm going wrong, as l cant understand why the motor is stopping 50% of the time, its quite annoying, hence the reason for asking for some help now.

I use the HNF Smart program to load the channel settings. Is there anything else that l need to do once the PET Settings have been loaded?

I check that l get a decent signal on Thor
Satellites are found when the channel is pressed on the Humax

But 50% of the time, the motor does not move the dish
How can l set the hardware limits on the motor from the Humax?

Anything else that lve missed, that l need to do?

Any help would be very much appreciated.
thanks
C

hi charlie123,
just checking, do you mean that when you change channels themselves it works ok regardless of sat position, but if you change sats specifically, ( i can only assume you mean in the sat settings menu) it does not work???

normally there is nothing you need do once you have sent the settings to the box.

motor enabled is correct

forget the hardware limits, this only affects the furthest limit of travel, so will not come into play if you are still able to get where you want to go.

what you could do is to
menu
toh
config
send disqesc twice change this to on

this might help otherwise it might be your motor getting a bit tired

hope this helps

Hi Voith,

thanks for your reply mate,

Just to summarise what l mean, the problem occurs when l manually type in the channel number of any satellite (apart from the one lm currently on). So for example, if l manually type in the channel number for say Prem Portal (if lm on Thor), the motor will click, then stop. I have to go back to the previous channel on Thor (by using the back button on the remote) then manually type in again, the channel for Prem Portal, then the dish will move to Prem Portal.

You advised to the switch on the setting - send disqesc twice change this to on. This is already on mate.

The motor is about 6 months old, so still in warranty, so is it worthwhile contacting the chap that it was purchased from? Been having probs with it for quite a long time with it stopping and starting,

cheers and thanks for making the time to reply to me

hi charlie123,
6 months old is not very old for a motor so you should not have these sort of problems, but if these problems have been dating since near you bought it, then you could be a bit suspicious.

I would have to say the usual, check all your connections for whiskers, (you say its new lead so that eliminates the lead) you could also if you have the chance try someone else's box on your up lead see if they have the same problem.

the fact that you can jog it to the correct position indicates that the settings are ok, out of curiosity go
ok
yellow

so that you are in the left page and change providers (sats) there see if there is any difference, i doubt it but you never know

glad the tut helped

Hi Voith,

Makes no difference mate, still the same prob, but glad that the signal level has been adjusted to fine tune Digi Tv on Thor

I will try and get hold of another box and see if the problem persists.
But once again thank you for following my query up, its very much appreciated
