Just wondered if HD stb's decode 422 feeds as well as HD ?
If not, are there any budget ones?
Cheers.

think this is not a true hd box , if it opens 4.2.2 then maybe still worth it . how much are they ?

Quali-tv does Mpeg2 only, SD & HD, not Mpeg4 which most High Def providers have gone over to. Still good for footie feeds 4.2.2 Mpeg2.

somone needs to do a 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 box with blind scan!

i'd buy one, and i'd pay £199.99 for it!

the manafactures at Arion are looking into a firmware fix for Arion AF8000HDCI so it can do 4,2,2 feeds, copy of a email reply i had off them
"Just a bit of news. The official answer from Arion is that on a hardware level this will work however the software would need to be modified in order to make this a reality. As this question has also been asked by distributors other than us they have put it to an engineer and asked for an update asap.

There is no reason why it cant be done but they havent promised anything yet. If I get anymore information I shall let you know"

ManiKM you will need to add another 0 to your £199.99 for a new 4.2.2 pro receiver used tanberg sold for near £500 on the auction site recently this was single channel only but you can only watch one channel at a time

Fortec Star are working on one. Here is a reply I got recently.
Thank you for your interest in the Passion receiver. Blind scan is being
finalized in a software to be release very shortly. As of today our
Passion receiver does not allow for 4:2:2 transmission this is due to the chip sets. Our engineers are currently working and testing a new chip sets with the manufactures that will allow for this.

I guess that should finally answer all the people who have already bought this receiver and are waiting for the promised software upgrade that was supposed to offer 4:2:2...according to the statement above...it ain´t going to happen, people need to buy a new receiver in the future with a new chipset. Tsk tsk tsk!
