Hello a friend of mine who is currently in hungary is there setting up a motorised system i have just spoken to him and he is trying to set up 28 east.
He has a 80cm dish all set on the position and recives around 700 channels the main idea was to get bbc and itv.
This is the problem none of the bbc or itv have came in he can't get no quality on these two channels at all what could be the problem?

Astra 2D, which transmits those channels, has a tighter beam centred on the UK.

Don't think he stands a chance with such a small dish sorry, check the footprint for Astra 2D and see what i mean.

Yep! Looks as if Hungary is just outside the 44dBw contour for 2D. Bigger dish is required.

If he hasn't already found them, the additional interractive BBC channels on 12.441 V 27500 (Astra 2b south beam) quite often show the mainstream stuff.
They tend to be named STREAM-0 to STREAM-6 but this depends on the receiver
ATM they are showing the Electric Proms though.
And a mosaic of 6 pictures (with selectable sound but I'm not hearing anything ATM) on 11.954 H 27500 called T4 STRM-0 and T4 STRM-1
[This Tx carries BBC Parliament as well as most of their radio stations]
