Thats cheap but which model because the only ones I can find on their site are

Panasonic TH42PX70CAB £1,136.00

Those models aren't full HD 1080p

Panasonic TH42PZ700CAB £2,099.00

That is full HD 1080p

Have I missed something ?

at 42 inch full hd wont make any difference to pic quality, good choice in panasonic for plasma though.

It does make a difference when using a full HD source but with a 42" you have to sit to close to see that kind of detail

Panasonic don't do 1920x1080 @ 24Hz over HDMI but that won't bother most

Very nice screens though its a good choice :)

As people have mentioned, Panasonic are a good plasma.

Got a Panasonic 42PX700PED a fortnight ago and I'm very pleased with it. Would have liked a PZ full HD but could not afford it.

As I've said mine's not full HD but the picture is superb on freeview and as you would expect even better on BBC HD. That's with the settings, contrast etc lower than 50%to allow for run in.

Have a look on AV forums they have owners threads on most TV's with lots of usefull advice.

ok M8

John Lewis were doing them plus a Panasonic DMR-EZ27 DVD Recorder/Digital Box £1,228

Actually they had a number of combo offers

Online they are out of stock but maybe if you have a store near you it might have them in ?

I'm pleased to see you like your new tv m8, after much deliberation i went for that model and it arrives on Wednesday, i thought seriously about the PZ700 but from what i could find out it seems that the extra £400 does not get you very much more, particularly if most of the programmes you watch are in SD and from what i've seen in the showrooms most of the TVs showing HD all look brilliant, full HD or not.

regards bill.

If empire direct is the catalogue company, then John Lewis do not price match with them. Their policy for price match does not apply to catalogue companies and also to web ads. They told me they even regard Argos as a catalogue company although Argos has trading shop outlets!!!
