Has any one got one of these it looks like a update to my 1500super with the added usb for easier updates or have i missed something.

If so is it as easy as it looks to do a usb update?

thanks

I think the 5400CI is the replacement for the 1000CI and the 5600 is the replacement for the 1500 had a play with the 5200USB and its easy to update with USB stick but there are a few bugs with the PVR part at the moment

i'm thinking of getting the 5400ci but I would like some info about the box... the place i'm looking to get it from say it's not a grey import. So could I find the firmware and update it that way so no cam would be needed?

Also with it having the usb interface would there be any need for the data cable connection?

And finally there's an option to have the external hard drive using the usb connection, is it not possible to have an internal hard drive?

I have seen one working now and i would definately say its the same as my 1500 super with the additions of usb that can be used to update or run a H/Drive, more memory, no there is not the space or power for a internal drive, let alone the heat it will produce. And if the tuner is more sensative may help some on those weak signal, not me though as my dish's are big enough
Will be picking on up in the next few days when i get to pass a shop that i get a fair bit of kit off and the prices are good. Will do me deal at £90.00 cash.

have you installed pvr software from technomate website first this might be your problem

If this is this file from their site 'TM-5400CI+@TM-5600 CI USB PVR', i get the same message.

I'm having the same problem with USB stick. I've loaded the .stb file but keep getting 'memory error'.

Can't even get the patches to update...

With the PVR

(1) Will it record all channels. I've read it only doeas FTA
(2) Can I watch the recorded HD file on my PC or will I have to convert it etc

can anyone tell me is it ok to go with the 1500CI information when trying to learn about the 5400CI, I believe its almost the same receiver, I am looking at the information about loading software/keys etc, and just wanted to know am i wasting my time..,
I decided to read up a little on how to get it working before it arrives.

I would say more like the 1000D CI model with the addition of a usb slot plus the card reader although this can be turned off.

Nice one m8 ,can you turn off the patch if using official cam??
Does the multicrypt slot have to be turned off also??

Expecting mine next week and hope to put it in the mobile at the seaside with a diseqc motor set-up.
Will the official videoguard cam work ??:confused:

There is litle point in turning the patch off, the cam is multi and will work on all cards but not tested myself as dont bother with them at mo.
The current patch like other technomate units covers all that can be got at moment for free.
Yes the patch is easy to turn off, same method as 1000 series but dont know why you would, cams work with patch on, and can always edit softcam

got mine TM 5400 CI USB yesterday, had it up and running for the 5.15pm kick off. took latest file from TM site and loaded it, then took the latest DM patch and away it went.
Come on UTD. PS is it just me or is there an absolutly brilliant picture on this receiver.

picture is quite good for a reasonably priced receiver try hd people rave about that they do make a hd unit

Im thinking of getting the TM 5400 CI,but my dish motor is powered by the receiver,is there any where in the spec part in the manual that tells you what the current to the LNB is as i need a minimum of 400mA,have e-mailed Technomate but no reply yet and i need to know A.S.A.P. as i have found a good priced unit.
Thanks for any help

Lads, Whats this reciever like for recording onto a external HD?

Can you play the recordings back via the technomate or not? What is the recording quality like? Does it record in mpeg 4/avi?
