Hi

I've eventually decided to have a go at picking this package up. Does this package have a week signal or is it Intelsat ? For some reason I'm only able to pick up the V transponders. Whenever I try to find any of the H transponders (e.g. 12563.00 H 27500 3/4) I get so signal. With the V transponders I'm getting about 55% signal quaility.

I've never had any problems in the past picking up channels on thor 0.8w so I thought this would be easy.

I've got an 80cm dish with a 0.2db Smart Titanium LNB

Any ideas anyone

Ian

should be no problems then as you are in one of the ideal places ( east coast ) , and you are east of me too

Something wrong then. Could it be a dish elevation problem ? Also my dish is an old mesh one which I've had since my sly analog days. Do you think that could be the problem ?

my friend uses the old sly 80cm lenson heath dish and gets it fine

could be that you are not aligned properly , or the lnb skew may be wrong or not universal type lnb ?

if you get other channels ok on 1 west and/or 0.8w then I dont think its the dish

so make sure you are using a modern universal lnb and not an old an@logue sly one

Thanks for the help. How do I check what my skew should be ?

It is a universal lnb. My setup is motorized and I use it's mainly pointing at 13e and 19e

basically , on 1 west the cable underneath should be pointing straight down

Sorry if I have missed this, but you have not stated what type of receiver it is that you have. I am also in Newcastle, and a M8 of Mine had a similar problem as to the one that you have, he had a Sammy 9500A on 1 West, Vertical - OK, Horizontal - Zero, when then replaced the Sammy with my Techno 1500, and all channels came in loud and clear, so maybe it is the Tuner on your STB, as it appeared to be on his.

I'm using an innovative. I'll try my tm5500 and see if that solves the problem.

Thanks

Hi M8

I've just tried my Inno on the Digi TV Channels and all are clearing, with Galaxie Sport - Signal 79 - Quality 70. Try BBC World (Thor)@ 11325 H 24500 it's coming in at S 91 - Q 83.

Aldo

I can pickup Galaxie Sport because it is on a V transponder. BBC world is fine also but that is on Thor 0.8 rather an Intelsat 10-02 1.0W.

Can you get Sport 2 Hungary ? (12563.00 H 27500 3/4)

Cheers
Ian

Yes, it's currently showing Kaposvar v FTC ( Score 2-0) S 73 - Q 64

sounds to me as if its either a receiver or an lnb problem

and if 2 receivers have the same fault , then it must be the lnb at fault

that is assuming your cable and its connections are ok

Maybe Ian will come back and tell us what it was that was causing him to have no Horizontal channels.

Hi ian_t_ boxer,

It could be your on Thor 0.8w and just picking up Intelsat @ 1w.
BBC World is on both Sats (1st), after that in my channel list, 2nd on
Intelsat is (Poker Channel).
The 2 Sats are just 50mm (2") apart.
If your in Disqc, go into Motor setting and tweek your Dish.

1-1 Crap, left Goal scorer out till last 4 min, played winger as
Left Back.
Bit better then last game played left sided player on right,
played right sided player on left. Left out goal scored till last 25mins.

(Sam there"s £4m...**** Off).
