Sirius4 Any signals yet?

Just wondering when this bird will start transmitting. Anyone got any info as I thought it would be testing by now,

There's apparently a test carrier on 11996H now. Sirius 4 is on 2E. I can't seem to get a lock on any signal with my Dreambox

I had a go at this and failed as well. Just to confuse the issue, there is a TP with the same settings at 5E (Sirius channel) which gave rise to false hopes for a few moments!

Yeah, I am not actually sure what "test carrier" is... I doubt you'd get a lock on a signal as there's no FEC/SR information. Maybe the signal can only be detected on ******** analyzers etc..?

But we'll see some test signals soon anyway :)

Another carrier on 12111H now, European beam. So anyone in the UK should be able to see it (and once they do, see how good 11996H is too ;))

Can not understand why they are using this position at 2 east when most of there customers are on 5 east, maybe someone could enlighten us??

The satellite is currently in a test orbital position to make sure it is functioning within acceptable parameters before moving to it's permanent position at 5 degrees east
