Hi guys,
I am giving up motors for now as weather here in Ireland is getting more severe.....So I want to buy a monoblock for Astra and hotbird. The dish is aligned on Astra. What do I need to fit LNB?? I have a 1.1 Triax dish.
Thank you.

you would be better off with the triax multi lnb holder and a diseqc switch m8

the usual trick is align onto hotbird and offset on astra but it can be done the other way round too

Hi Echelon,
Thank you for reply. Is this you are talking about?

Why is this a better option?
Better quality reception?
Thanks.

cant tell what you are asking me but the triax dishes are wider arms and have a dedicated 4 way lnb holder that clips in place of the standard single holder and is adjustable

so the proper triax 4-way lnb holder and a 4 way diseqc switch will give you up to 4 sats from 1 dish

nothing to do with reception , but everything to do with ease of use and adjustability

I doubt it , but you could pay yhr money and try if you wanted to

for lenson heath I would think the 4 way lnb gilbertini may be a better bet as shown in other threads here

Ok,
Ordered my triax multi holder with 4 lnb and disecq swith for 60 quid on fle****....great value I think.
My dish is on Astra at the moment, will I have to move it to hotbird? Is it possibe to get 1deg west with my 1.1 metre triax dish? Finnally is there graduations on brackets to set up lnb's?
Thanks.

i have got a triax 4 way multi block and just purchased lnb's from ****, £1.99 each in the sale, 0.3db's so cant be bad. been using one on my motorised dish for over a year and working fine.
the triax instructions come with distance settings for 1w, 5e, 13e, and 19e
anyone know where i could get the settings for using with 5e, 13e, 19e, and 28e?

cheers mick

Hi,
I have set up 28,19 and 13deg east NO BOTHER!!! I Fixed the dish on Astra1.The 1st lnb for 19deg east goes right besibe the feed arm...ON THE LEFT OF THE ARM when you look at the dish! For Hotbird the LNB goes on RIGHT of the arm(always facing dish)...I used a tv and decoder for signal search, slide lnb slowly until you reach maximun signal. For 28deg lnb (on the left side) you do the same. As for 5deg east I did not try as it is not worth here in the west of Ireland.
Hope this help!

got it set up no probs, i should have posted back to say i had managed it:redface:
i just set lnb's 2 and 3 30mm either side of the centreand tuned into a hotbird chan and turned dish until i got max signal, then just slid lnb's 1 and 4 up and down the bracket to suit, worked out roughly 1mm for every degree apart. was surprised how easy it was :)

Looks like I will have to do some tweaking myself! Some frequencies on astra 2 are strong and some others are VERY weak!!....Will do that in the spring.:D
