View Full Version : HDD Drive for Thechno 6900

Thinking of buying Techno 6900, not sure what hard drive would be best. Seen some info which suggests considerable software reqd to make HDD work. Any suggestions, I'm not a computer expert though

try the WD[western digital passport] its 250 gb`s are more than enough space even for HDrecordings,...but you can also try the WD mybook edition 500gb,..im told it works good,..cheers.[they have to be formatted with FAT 32],,..[ go to technomate.com for instructions].

For all hard disks more than 30 GB
DO NOT FORMAT IN TM-6900 TM-6800 MANAGEMENT DO NOT CHECK DISK
1-connect hard disc via USB to your pc first
2- right click on the My Computer icon on desktop
3 select manage go to disk management
4-see info of the hard disc on the screen
5-right-hand click again on the USB drive
6-delete partition
7-make new partition { it has to be primary } assign drive letter (e.g. f:)
8-Do not format
9-Make the partition as active by doing right click again
10- Download the formatter file from _http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/index.htm?fat32format.htm-Now download a copy of fat32format.also attached with this file, Extract the single EXE file to somewhere, like C:\.
Click Start->Run and enter cmd.
11- CD\ to the where you extracted the fat32format exe, e.g. by typing CD c:\
12 - Type this also letter you selected in step 8 e.g. f :
fat32format f:
13 You should see this warning message displayed
14 Warning ALL data on drive 'f' will be lost irretrievably, are you sure (y/n)
15 Press y. It takes few seconds to finish
16 Connect to your tm-6900/6800 and wait a bit then press record.
17 In the management donot use check disc or format.
