Ive been going through dish motors and lnb's like packets of walker crisps. just can't find the problem, been through 2 motors and 3 lnb's this year alone!. I've checked untill am obessed with checking, can't understand it. i've got three setups and this is the only deadly one. the motors just stop moving no noise, nothing.

I have Tried quite a few different receivers, but i get the same result, change the cable once. Everything went ok for a while then it just started knocking them out again. Could this be a lighting problem?
Or do they normally seize up after a period of time? Some times i don't use the motor for about month or so but when it's time for a channel change it's competely dead.

this is been going on for 3 years now, total motors knocked 5 total lnbs 4

Any help would be really appreciated

I would guess that your STB is occasionally tipping out well over 20Vdc on horizontal channels and that you are using a DiSEqC motor.

The spec for LNBs is Vertical: 11.5 to 14V and Horizontal: 17.3 to 20Vdc.
