I was being serious cos I know I saw something to that effect in November time - just added the quip for fun!! Cheers - brain PS Do hope what you saw on the Italian site was true - i would suffer withdrawal symptoms now i can really find my way around the DB - i did suggest also that a thread of other Linux based boxes and experinces would be good as a backup!!

I guess still no news then.

I find this one of the strangest things for a company to do. They have been promising this box for ages and there is a huge market demand desperate to buy this peice of kit. Yet delay upon delay!

They are runinng the potential of loosing the people as more Linux models appear on the market HD ready. It would be a shame to see the market leader (in my view) loose out because they cannot meet the needs of their market!

The Dreambox DM8000 is either scrapped, or has long term issues that need fixing, so will probably never see the light of day for a very long time, if ever at all.

Just read a thread on the dm forum that it could be out in May (what f***ing May though I don't know!)

Bolocks Guys , the dm 8000 HAS BEEN CANNCLED :mad:

i had a trip to Sweeden to visit some off the main Importer off DMM
and i gott confirmation that the DM 8000 has realy cancled the project :frown:

this are not my words , but what i was told from the Sweedish Supplier
and he realy told me to go and buy my self another HD box and not wait for the DM 8000 .

today i did see the new dm 500+ and 600pvr , very nice looking small receivers
the black colour was wonderful disign :D


PS ; my eye even cought an new Box called Hyro 9000 HDTV Receiver there:confused: is not linux recevier,
but by the test i and the shop owner did today found out that it has an multi cardreader , Canal digital hd Sweeden and Viasat Sweden both did work
so did work an ART and MCT card

also by german biggest sat store ******.de also confirm that the dm8000 wont come only 2 new models like dm100 and dm800 will come and they wont be with any hd funktion

See things don't tie up here. You have on the official site them promoting a HD dreamboxes (all be it they are shaded out) but lots of people saying the box is cancelled.

I guess its like everything else in the sat scene. " Wait and see"
