i live in belfast n.ireland Detlef, but i know if you pay alot for hdtv and hd receiver you must have a good lead to match. but am i wrong in saying some
prices are over the top. what do you get for your £80.

When your talking about hdmi its debatable whether your going to see any difference with expensive leads as its a digital source

For your average hi street plasma/lcd I don't think its worth buying an expensive hdmi unless it for a really long distance

I got mine (3M) off a well known auction site for £7 - seems fine to me but I do only have a 26" screen and not 40 or 50 but for £7 I am well happy with it.

apparently it makes no difference whether you spend £5.00 or £500.00,like tnt said it's a digital source made up of noughts and ones,as long as the signal goes through, thats all you need

Unless the connectors fall apart the lead will hardly make a difference.

It's like all this crap about having gold contacts on HiFi connectors. How are the connectors linked to the circuit board inside the kit?

Lead-tin solder is the answer.

DataWrite make a good 1.8m HDMI v1.3 (1080p-rated) cable. They are well made and produce excellent images. £9 from SVP.
