I sorted a few probs out for a friend with this model, what a dog of a reciever it is.
Its method of working and programming is totaly differant to most other models on the market these days.
My first prob was that somebody had entered a pin and forgotten it, I downloaded the manual for a ST500 which had a master pin which turned out to be the same for the 300.
The s/w on this model is flakey with a mind of its own, when you change a satellite name or a channel its does not always store the info, when you move a channel it also keeps losing lock and the channel fails to move.
The advanced frequency search option is about as awkward as could be, the LNB set up did not work properly, I tried to connect a monoblock for Astra 1 and Hotbird use but the s/w kept forgetting which sat was which, in the end I gave up after trying every option.
No other satellite reciever is this kack handed and awkward to set up, my advice is stay clear of this little nasty, its truly horrid.
