Which hard drive for 9100?

What hard drive is everyone using on this machine & what size to go for?

5400 160 gig is considered one of the best ( I think it was a samsung )

otherwise there are some 250 gig ones that are ok

just wish I could remember their model brands and names etc :)

its a Hitachi Deskstar T7K250 250 GB (HDT722525-DLAT80) in one of mine

and a Samsung Spinpoint V series 160 gig 5400rpm drive in the other

i use maxtor 250 gig, no problems in two 9100 recivers.:)

Samsung Spinpoint V series where the 5400 drives but they have stopped production of them now :rolleyes:

Think drive problems are no longer a problem now anyway just get a low noise low heat drive

I fitted Seagate 160gb 7200rpm over six months ago and it runs cool, with no problems.

You can get purpose built CE hard drives for PVR use etc. such as Seagate ST3160215ACE / ST3250820ACE or Western digital WD2500AVJB etc.
