Sony F Series goes slim

With a release date in Japan this March, Sony's new F Series LCD TV's not only measure up at an impressively slim 75mm, they are also manufactured with a large proportion of recyclable plastic components.

The likes of Pioneer and Sharp may brush aside Sony's slim line pretensions with thinner models, but combine Sony's legendary understated style with an ultra slim bezel, and the whole visual effect produces something quite special.

Available as 46in, 40in and 32in models, the two larger screens offer a Full HD, 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, while the smaller 32in model has a 1,366 x 768 pixel resolution. All of the F Series panels have a 3,000:1 Contrast ratio, 24p playback and 100Hz Motion Flow. A 2.4GHz wireless remote is included, negating the need to point at the screen - just in case extreme laziness suddenly takes a grip of you.

No word yet on if and when these panels will be coming to the UK, but we will certainly be keeping an eye out for them.
